Freelance writing is a great way to build your writing career. This term simply means that you aren’t an employee for a certain publication company. Whether you want to earn a living by publishing books, articles, screen rights, gift cards, web copy, sales copy, press releases, etc., you are involved in freelance writing.

But most authors don’t consider themselves freelance writers. Freelance writers tend to be more involved in seeking to be paid upfront money for writing short articles or stories for publications as opposed to writing books and such. Nevertheless, by being a published author and seeking more exposure and wanting to capitalize on your knowledge and writing skills, you may find freelance writing to be very rewarding.

So the method I would recommend to most people is to view freelance writing for publications as a good supplemental opportunity to capitalize on your writing skills and expertise.
